I am very excited to tell you about the Fall 2006 Region XII Conference to be held at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas. The Flamingo Hotel is centrally located on The Strip, and has recently renovated both its meeting and hotel rooms. The Flamingo was chosen because it offers meeting room space ample enough to handle our Region’s many concurrent sessions, yet intimate enough to ensure the cohesiveness and camaraderie found at a Region XII conference.
The conference registration information, including the registration form, is now available. You will notice that this year there is a change in the registration fee structure. NAFSAns staying at the Flamingo Hotel will pay a lower conference registration fee than those not staying at the conference hotel. With so many other hotels available in Las Vegas, it was essential that there be an incentive to booking at the Flamingo. If not enough NAFSAns stay at the Flamingo hotel, Region XII will not make the necessary funds to plan future conferences at top locations.
I encourage you to book your room at the Flamingo Hotel as soon as possible before the deadline of October 4. I anticipate a truly successful conference and look forward to seeing everyone in Las Vegas.

It gives me great pleasure to invite Region XII to the 2006 NAFSA: AIE Regional conference in Las Vegas. We have an exciting program for you beginning and ending with shows and jammed-packed full of informative sessions that everyone will want to talk about at their institutions.
If you are interested in any of the shows we have lined up, please note the group ticket deadlines.
We have arranged to purchase tickets at a discount rate. If you purchase tickets through your NAFSA registration prior to the posted deadlines, we will purchase tickets for you and have them in your folders at registration. Pink Jeep, Black Canyon, and Helicopter tours will be pre-arranged and confirmation will likewise be in your folder.
We have an outstanding Opening Reception planned with “Very Vegas” surprise entertainment to get you ready for evenings to come! There will be a raffle sponsored by International Education Services (IES) of a stretch limo for Wednesday evening after the opening reception until 2am for the lucky winner to use anywhere in the city.
